1982- Peace Poem & Strangest Dream

@JDHealingTimeOnEarth. Let's envision and dream this into being. It's a matter of focused energy and commitment.

Peace Poem

There's a name for war and killing
There's a name for giving in
When you know another answer
For me the name is sin
But there's still time to turn around
And make all hatred cease
And give another name to living
And we could call it peace
And peace would be the road we walk
Each step along the way
And peace would be the way we work
And peace the way we play
And in all we see that's different
And in all the things we know
Peace would be the way we look
And peace the way we grow
There's a name for separation
There's a name for first and last
When it's all for us or nothing
For me the name is past
But there's still time to turn around
And make all hatred cease
And give a name to all the future
And we could call it peace
And if peace is what we pray for
And peace is what we give
Then peace will be the way we are
And peace the way we live
Yes there still is the time to turn around
And make all hatred cease
And give another name to living
And we can call it peace

1993 -The Earth's Balance

Physics fascinates me.  At every level, I am interested in how the Earth works.  For example, did you know that the Earth is a magnet with a north and south pole?  The partially molten nickel-iron core of the Earth is probably the source of its magnetic field.  All magnets have polarity.  Depending on the density and the purity of the material involved, changes in a magnet’s polarity can take place.  Some evidence indicated that changes in the Earth’s magnetic field have occurred in the past, and so could happen again.  I wonder what such a phenomenon might mean for life as we know it.  Is the Earth’s polarity actually changing?  If so, at what rate?  What forces are at work?

I had occasion several years ago to ask my dear and respected friend, Buckminster Fuller, about the possibility of change in the Earth’s polarity.  I specifically asked him what might affect changes in the Earth’s polarity.  He said he’d never thought about it, but after a moment, he offered some insights in his remarkable way.  He said that over 85 percent of the Earth’s mined heavy elements are now in the Northern Hemisphere.  Huge reserves of these heavy elements have been the form of products in the industrial era.  No one seems to know what this disproportionate redistribution of the Earth’s heavy elements in the Northern Hemisphere might mean.

Another quandary is how magnetic fields react to cosmic radiation.  If these fields change, will they affect the kinds of radiation that reach the surface of the Earth?  Changes in radiation are what we’re experiencing as a result of the depletion of ozone in the Earth’s atmosphere.  One obvious effect is the increasing rate of skin cancer.  When the warning signs are so obvious, why do so many of us seem to deny the things that are happening to the Earth’s life-support systems?

It seems to me that if we didn’t view ourselves as separate from each other and the Earth, we could see the signs more clearly than we do.  We have the science today to balance the Earth’s systems but perhaps we don’t have the will.  We have not made the necessary change in consciousness to keep the world from turning upside down – if not literally, as with a shift of polarity, at least practically.

  • ·         The Earth itself is not perfectly round.
  • ·         It has a wobble.  Its’ orbit around the sun is not exactly a circle.
  • ·         It’s an imperfect ball of life in a delicate orbit, not steady on course, and potentially thrown off course by the consequences of human actions.·

Just think:

  • We have the power to change the course of what happens on Earth itself.
  • Although we have the power, I worry about our wisdom.
  • We need to hear nature’s own rhythms.
  • We need to avoid excess.
  • We need to pay attention to the consequences of our actions.
  • We need to conserve and correct our errors.

As soon as we talk in these terms, denial and guilt may arise in the hearts and souls of some.  With guilt comes fear and anger.  We don’t have time for placing blame.  We only have time to fix what needs repairing. This requires a change in consciousness.

Anywhere along the way in the evolution of consciousness we can make clear and powerful choices.  We can choose to move beyond the ways we have been living on the planet.  I believe we can consciously choose to live in support of the whole planet and its’ long-term health.  All signs tell us we must.

Meditation: Winds of fate

@JDHealingTimeOnEarth. As we are buffered by the winds of fate and struggle to hold on to our ballast, let us remember that we are all One, and together we can move into an inclusive and caring atmosphere of trust. We are the change the world needs to see. And so it is.

1977- I Want To Live

@JDHealingTimeOnEarth–
Unfortunately, we are still discussing these same things, and more:

John Denver’s Plea from 1977:

“It’s a very interesting time in the history of life on planet earth.  There are decisions being made and actions being taken which are going to affect not only our lives, but the lives of all future generations; in fact, the potential for life its’ self on this planet.

I think that it’s critically important that whatever occurs, that it’s an honest and true reflection of who we all are as human beings.

Whether the struggle is to end hunger in the world, or to stop the senseless slaughter of the great whales, to disarm the nuclear bomb that hangs over all of us, or to preserve the right of any and all people to their natural heritage.

The responsibility is ours, the time is now; therefore, chose life!”

Kindness

As we move further into this new year, let us remember that we are all One, and that compassion can take your journey to new depths. Kindness will lead the way. It must.
